2/13/08 - Wrapkin's Press Release
[ATLANTA, GA]. According
to Beverage Marketing Corporation, every man, woman
and child in the United States drinks 192 gallons of
liquid a year. That translates to about 3.7 gallons
per week or 2 liters a day. In this consumption, is
carbonated soft drinks, milk, bottled water, coffee,
beer, fruit beverages, sports drinks, tea, wine and
distilled spirits. Consequently, Americans are accustomed
to using beverage aids like a coaster for an ice cold
one; a cardboard drink sleeve for a hot cup of coffee;
a Koozie ™ to store their drink for the trip home;
or handful of napkins for the condensation, but what
would one do with a Wrapkin? All
of the above.
The Wrapkin (www.wrapkin.com)
is an innovative new product that looks and feels similar
to a real cloth linen napkin, that can do all the jobs
of a paper napkin, coaster and a drink sleeve. It opens
up to easily slide on beer bottles, cans, pint glasses,
and even wine bottles. Beverage consumers can use it
to keep their hands warmer, their beverages colder or
warmer and handle condensation. Unlike napkins, The
Wrapkin is a disposable, recyclable drink sleeve made
of a new high quality, durable, absorbent paper material
and does not disintegrate when wet.
While the Wrapkin offers
a bit of luxury and comfort to beverage drinkers it
creates ‘legs’ for advertisers to be seen
anywhere as these consumers walk all-around venues carrying
their brand images and messages printed on the Wrapkin.
The Wrapkin also is easily
more economical than insulated beverage holders, since
it cost just pennies per unit. It can be a bonus for
establishment owners, who often dispense 3-5 bar napkins
per beverage. The company's tag line, We've got your
competition covered, seeks to sell the Wrapkin’s
value to beverage distributors, bottlers and sports
or brand marketers as a stronger branding tool than
the bar napkin, card board drink sleeve, coaster or
Koozie ™.
"Developing this
product has been a lot of fun,” says Albert McDonald.
“When we give them out at bars, restaurants and
sporting events, people’s responses are overwhelmingly
positive. It's great to see their eyes light up and
a start a big grin. Comments range from ‘where
did you get these, I want more’ to ‘I should
have thought of this, I always wrap my drinks.’
We really look forward to the potential this product
has for makings consumers and advertisers happy.”
Albert McDonald is the President of Stratospherian Marketing
& Product Development, Wrapkin's parent company.
The Wrapkin™, as
it is so aptly named, might very well be the answer
as a practical replacement everywhere for the Koozie
™, drink sleeve, coaster or the napkin.

1/12/08 - Everyday Edisons Casting
Call for new inventions
Stratospherian's
President, Albert McDonald, attended the Everyday
Edisons casting call at the Gwinnett Convention
Center (Atlanta, Georgia). With over 2500 inventions
submitted, it was quite a mad house. "It was great
seeing so many inventors trying to get their dreams
realized. Quite a few of those people had patents and
manufacturers prototypes but their products had never
taken off. Many people find this shocking but in a seminar
given by the USPTO, they confirmed that only 5% of the
patents issued make enough money to cover their cost
of the patent." In an effort to see how the process
went, Albert submitted a product that he invented 7
years ago but never really developed further. "It
has been on my lists of products to develop, but have
not gotten around to it. So I built a full sized mock
up to show them proof of concept. They liked it and
requested I come back to present in front of the TV
Judges. They liked it and now I am a finalist."
Out of 2500 inventions they only chose the top 40 for
the South East Region. Everyday Edisons will be holding
the same casting calls in four other cities over the
next few months. Out of all these finalists combined
from each region, they will only select 14 products
to be on the show. Good luck to all those finalists
and of course our President, Albert McDonald.

"The End of Bar Coasters is Near"
President
of Stratospherian, Albert McDonald, makes the very bold
statement that "The end of Bar Coasters is Near"
at the National Beer and Wholesaler Associations convention
in Las Vegas. "Coasters have been around for ever
and unfortunately do not help advertise their sponsored
product. The only time you usually see one is right
before the bartender puts the beverage you ordered right
on top of it." Albert McDonald, Becca Laughlin
and Dan Leonardi attended the convention with one purpose,
to introduce Stratospherian's 1st in house invention
(that was not developed for another company or inventor),
the Wrapkin
to the beer industry. It is An innovative new product
that looks like a high quality bar napkin or coaster
but opens up to easily slide on beer bottles, cans,
pint glasses, and even wine bottles. Allowing for advertisers
to essentially use beverages as their billboards. All
the while keeping the customers hands warmer and their
drinks colder, even with condensation.
"The
Wrapkin was well received by those in the industry,
in fact we even had a few jaws drop on us when we showed
it to them. The small to mid sized breweries saw how
easy it will be to increase their market share instantly
at the point of sale. They know that people are influenced
by what the see others drinking, and with consumers
putting the Wrapkins on their beverages it will make
it look like their product is the one to buy."
Albert McDonald
